School of Podcasting with Audio & Video

In addition, each attendee will receive an HD video camcorder (worth $150), Tool Factory Podcasting software (worth $100), Tool Factory's Simple Guide to Podcasting Book (worth $20), Tool Factory's Adventures in Podcasting Lesson Plan Book (worth $20), and Clip Art Station subscription account (worth $35). We'll discuss the versatility of the technology and the variety ways it can be used, and the Tool Factory trainer demonstrate the basics of how to podcast with and without video using Tool Factory Podcasting software. Within minutes you will be creating your very own podcasts in this engaging hands-on seminar! Perfect for beginners. You'll return to your district with all the hardware, software, and instruction you need to begin podcasting right away. Software is Windows only.

Beginning School of Digital Video

Learn how districts are using digital video technology to foster engagement, promote student-centered learning, and inspire achievement. Each attendee receives a Kodak HD video camcorder (worth $150). Attendees also receive Tool Factory's Adventures in Technology book (worth $20), which includes a host of technology-based lesson plans for English, science, math, and social studies, Clip Art Station subscription account (worth $35), plus a free 5-user annual subscription to the Creaza Education online software suite (worth $100). Join us to explore video technology with simple video editing to engage students and enliven any subject. Create fun, curriculum-driven videos using your new camcorder, then edit projects using Creaza Education and share them on the web. More detailed training will include the incorporation of still images to enhance video projects, and how to use sound to change a video's effect. This hands-on workshop makes video production a snap!

State Agency Day Session

The Office of Chief Information Officer/Technical Services will present information and updates on technical services provided to South Carolina school districts.

Information will be presented by South Carolina school districts and SCDE on PowerSchool 7.2 and changes in agency applications and processes. 

Other topics will include: Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLICE), Student Potential Performance Snapshot (SPPS), Graduation Planner eIGP, SIF and PowerSchool State Reporting.
