GENERAL SECURITY INFORMATION

While SC EdTech Show Management, and the Myrtle Beach Convention Center (MBCC) will exercise reasonable care in safeguarding Exhibitor’s property, neither SC EdTech Show Management, the conference co-sponsors, the MBCC, National Expo, or any of their officers, agents or employees, assume any responsibility for such property.

Security services are procured by Show Management and the MBCC at all show floor entry points and overnight during non-show hours, but the ultimate responsibility for booths and property rests with the individual exhibitor. Here are a few security tips:

Valuable items which can be hand-carried should be removed at night (e.g. laptops, CD players, cameras, one-of-a-kind items, etc.)

Do not leave booth unattended or unpacked product visible during move in/out.  In a large show even large crates can disappear. You might want to consider painting your crates distinctive colors for easy recognition.

Consider hiring additional security to stay in your booth overnight. Although Show Management provides overnight guards in the hall, it is impossible to guarantee complete safety of everyone’s belongings.

Do not identify the contents of crates – it’s an open invitation for theft if the contents are  advertised. Number crates instead and make sure the first person on-site has a master list of contents to assist in the unpacking process.

Work only in your own booth(s). Do not enter other exhibitors’ booths during move-in before or after official show hours or during move-out.

Do not leave unpacked product and display materials unattended during move-in or move-out. During move-out, stay with your exhibit until your empty cartons are delivered and your goods re-packed, sealed and properly labeled.

At the close of business each day cover all display tables. This establishes a barrier to curiosity seekers and other would-be thieves from selecting items to steal at a later time.  Store excess supplies with the material handling contractor in a facility outside the exhibit hall.

Keep an inventory list of your display.  Check it when the display is unpacked, before the show opens each day, and after the show closes each day.

Ship exhibits in sturdy containers. Your company name, name and dates of show and booth number(s) must be clearly marked and old shipping labels removed.

Obtain proper insurance coverage for your goods, including transit to and from the show site.
